| Sandy
Sydnam
was first introduced to blacksmithing as a child in Toronto, when
visiting Ontario's Black Creek Pioneer Village. A very small,
delicate child, she was content to sit on the smith's plank floor
and watch for hours. When she announced she wanted to be a blacksmith
when she grew up, her father laughed and said that was not something
girls did. Now her father is very proud of his daughter, who uses
traditional forging methods and many different types of steel
in her work. Also a practitioner of Judo since age five, Sandy
feels Judo has made an invaluable contribution to her life and
her art. . |
