| Rintje
Raap
always had a creative outlet over his many years of working as
a chemist and a teacher. First it was photography, then drawing
and finally painting, which added an exciting new dimension to
his life. His favourite medium is oil pastel, which he applies
on watercolour paper with his fingers. Rintje revels in the vibrant
colours and the intimate, tactile connection. The medium also
suits his interest in natural, sculpted forms. Compelled to paint,
art represents freedom to Rintje. In the past two years, he has
participated in several group or joint exhibitions in Sooke and
Victoria. |
