Born, raised and educated on Vancouver Island, Susan O'Hanley has long been an artist at heart. She spent most of her spare time growing up at any artist's house in her neighborhood or in the art room at school.
Widowed at 30 and responsible for raising two children, Susan'a artist endeavours were put on the backburner. Her need to create, ever strong, she continued to learn new skills; stained glass, sandblasted glass work and lampshades to name a few. Her painted pillow covers developed while she worked as a room attendant at Sooke Harbour House and she began making beautiful unique pillow covers for the guest rooms. Encouraged by Frederique to make more pillow covers for the gift shop, the rest has become history. Susan is retired now and remains happy with paintbrush in hand, fabric as her canvas, her imagination running free. She is delighted to contribute another unique dimension to Sooke Harbour House.
Susan is happy to make personalized pillow covers for clients. Cost depends on the cover size and will take 4-6 weeks for delivery.
