On of the finest Art Galleries on Vancouver Island

Ada Oegema   In 1999 I moved back to Victoria, British Columbia where I was initially introduced to weaving. Weaving has become my passion and I have dedicated much of my time to perfecting the techniques involved in block weaving.

The only materials I work with are wool for the weft and linen for the warp.

I enjoy watching my creations of fiber, colour and design move along on the loom and look forward to the moment of "truth" when I cut the finished weaving off the loom and view it, for the first time, in its entirety.

My pieces have been shown at various galleries and at juried art shows. Recently I completed a commissioned work for a couple in Chicago who wrote: "As art, your weaving stands the test - it is continuously interesting the more we live with it."

All my weavings function very well on the wall and, in addition, some weavings make a striking statement on the floor.
