| Angela
Montanti's
passion is ceramics, particularly raku. While her work ranges
from the sculptural to the decorative to the functional, most
of her work is decorative and is imbued with humour and whimsy.
Each piece combines a collection of images, shapes and colours
in a seemingly functional form. As part of her creative process,
Angela imagines her work in public or personal spaces, studied
and viewed through imagination and interpretation. A graduate
of the University of Manitoba with a BFA Honours, Angela admits
to an 'obsession' with raku that continues to be a constant stimulus
to her work. |
