Robert Martin, carvings, Sooke Harbour House art gallery

Robert Martin recently set aside his job as a Philosophy professor to turn his life-long passion of working in wood, into a career. An artist who takes inspiration from natural forms, he believes that a wood creation should live as long and as gracefully as a tree. In fact, he is now working on a 15 foot tall "tree bed" for the Raven's Nest room at Sooke Harbour House. Robert's custom furniture and wood art has been displayed at the Sooke Fine Arts Show and in an exhibition at the University of Victoria's Maltwood Museum.
