On of the finest Art Galleries on Vancouver Island

Tom Lamont developed his eye and feeling for wildlife when he worked in lookout towers as a Forest Service fire-spotter in northern British Columbia, Canada. His love and respect for animals is evident throughout his work. He carves moose antlers collected only from those that have dropped naturally from the live animal. Tom also works with individually selected pieces of soapstone from Brazil and alabaster from Spain. Each wildlife sculpture he creates is a combination of intimate study of the raw material, and an observed or envisioned pose of the animal. Tom welcomes custom orders; increasing demand has broadened the variety he offers.
