K. Yuen
Chin K. Yuen's award-winning art works are shown and collected internationally in private and corporate collections. She produces large bodies of artworks with thematic focuses such as the celebration of humans' relationships to nature; a selection of these paintings is featured at the Sooke Harbor House Gallery. Also on display is a selection of her current abstract paintings, which won the 2004 International Expo XXIII Award in New York, USA, and the 2005 Herbert Siebner Practicing Artist Award in Victoria, Canada.
Yuen defines painting as a luxuriously meditative solitary act that combines the physicality of painting and the analytical skills of problem solving. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (Vancouver, Canada) and a Master of Arts in English Literature (University of Victoria, Canada). She lives in Victoria, Canada, where she paints full-time and enjoys a creative life with her husband. www.chinyuenart.com |
