| Laura
Bryant
finds that her work in bodycasting demands a level of interaction
with the subject that is rarely experienced by artists. Her contact
with the formative materials: plaster and stone, lightweight cotton
fibres and composite materials allows for a freedom of expression
and a unique opportunity to design the final presentation of each
piece. Marrying colour with the components helps bring each piece
to life, particularly with the addition of light in its place
of display. Her subject matter is the human form, of which Laura
displays a true appreciation. She has exhibited in both Sooke
and Victoria. While just a young woman in high school, she too
worked at Sooke Harbour House. |
